Associate Professor Alice Gorman has a B.A. (Hons) from Melbourne University and a PhD from the University of New England. She works for WHC on an as-needs, casual basis as a specialist heritage advisor.
She has more than 27 years experience in undertaking both small and large scale archaeological research and cultural heritage management projects in SA and Qld. These have included linear infrastructure, mining and exploration, space heritage assessments, water storage, urban development, built environment, lithic analysis, recreation, National Parks management, museum collections and exhibitions, and repatriation projects.
Alice has published widely in national and international journals, and has many years experience teaching archaeology and cultural heritage management to Aboriginal community members, undergraduate and postgraduate university students. She is perhaps best known for her pioneering and seminal work into the archaeology of space and space exploration.
Alice has a number of professional affiliations and registrations with relevant associations including the Australian Archaeological Association (AAA), and full membership with the Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Inc. (AACAI).
